gee, i turn around and half the summer has ebbed out with the tide. Last week i took the ferry, La Conte, to Pelican. now that's one long slow ride.


Pelican has a main Boardwalk, the only motorized vehicles you'll see on those planks are like 4-wheelers, bikes and golf carts.


on the return to Auke Bay we got a Coast Guard escort, one fast boat on each side with machine guns foreward. is this really making things safer? i honestly don't know. it got peoples attention which i suppose is the point.
